TRIAL SITE!!

ARCADIA FAIR GROUNDS
16020 Carnival Avenue
Upperco, MD 21155

The trial site is owned and operated by the Arcadia Fire Department.  The site consists of many acres of open field, with plenty of parking and ample room for RV's with electrical hookups. For those of you who attended in the last couple of years, you will be glad to know that the fields are very flat – no more worries about getting stuck if it rains, the field getting flooded, or the creek overflowing!   There are plenty of stores, restaurants and gas stations in the adjoining town of Hampstead, MD. Unfortunately there are no hotels in the adjoining towns, but there are several within a reasonable drive, which are outlined below.

PLACES TO STAY:

BOSTON INN (Rooms blocked under Mason Dixon)
533 Baltimore Blvd.
Westminster, MD 21157
410-848-9095

RED ROOF
111 West Timonium Rd.
Timonium, MD 21093
800-874-9000

DAYS INN (no dogs in room)
25 S. Cranberry Road
Westminster, MD 21157
410-857-0500

Many have stayed at the Red Roof in Timonium for previous Mason-Dixon trials.  It is 28 miles from the trial site, a beautiful drive through Maryland horse country. They are the only hotel who has a liberal dog policy, so if you take multiple dogs in the room, this would be your best choice.

HAMPTON INN
100 Far Hills Drive
Shrewsbury, PA 17361
717-235-9898

If you are coming from the north, this hotel is just off I-83. It is a beautiful new hotel, no dogs allowed in room. It is 26 miles from the trial site, through nice Maryland countryside.

CAMPING

This new site is excellent for camping.  There are approximately 25 spots available for motor homes with electrical hookups, and the site is well lighted. There is also a dumping station available. Camping is available by pre-reservation at $25/night; please include camping requests on your entry form, or call to make reservation.

DIRECTIONS

From the Baltimore Beltway Rt. 695, go to I-795 (Northwest Expressway) towards Owings Mills/Reisterstown.  Take Exit 9A, left towards MD-30/MD-140/Hanover.  Go north on Rt. 30 (Hanover Pike) for approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Arcadia Avenue for approximately 2/10 mile, then left on Carnival Avenue into site.

Note:  If you are staying in Westminster, MD, follow these same directions but take Rt. 140 north to the hotels, and get cross-country directions to the site from the hotel.  If you are staying at the Red Roof or the Hampton Inn, you would want to get cross-country directions to the site from the hotel.  Mapquest or MSN.com gives very good directions to/from all locations.
